From athletics to zumba, through film studies, Mandarin Chinese and photography, the schools, universities and other organisations we work with offer a mind-boggling array of activities and events. Our extensive work with educational establishments, and our digital expertise, helped us realise that our clients needed a simpler, digital solution for sharing event information. To help them plan their time, busy parents, pupils and students need a quick and simple way of finding out what’s happening and when.
To make life easier for our clients and for their pupils, parents and students, we began developing a product which would offer a cost effective way for school to share their events digitally.
And so SchoolCal App was born: a mobile app for iPhone and android devices which parents and pupils can download for free from the App Store or Google Play. SchoolCal App is an easy-to-use digital calendar which enables schools, colleges and universities to keep staff, pupils and parents up to date with extra-curricular activities, sports fixtures, parents evenings and the multitude of other activities on offer.
Quick, intuitive and easy to use
The days of scouring through multiple printed calendars or trawling through emails to find important dates are over: SchoolCal App gives parents and pupils a better, simpler way to keep up to date with events and commitments. SchoolCal App allows you to search events by category, so users can quickly find the events that are relevant to them, whether that’s Parent’s Evening, netball practice or the school concert.
Real time updates
Parents and pupils will be pleased to know that SchoolCal App updates in real time, so it’s never out of date; if sports fixtures change or an activity is cancelled, they are always in the loop. The app works on Apple and Android devices, so the calendar is always to hand on their smartphone.
Flexible and affordable
The good news for schools, colleges and universities is the app is flexible and can be adapted to suit their organisation. It will tie in with their existing events system or it can be used as a stand-alone calendar, and the app will use colours and graphics which match their school brand. The app will give schools an affordable way to keep parents and pupils up to date using the latest technology.
With smartphone ownership at an all time high, and with the Department of Education reminding us that, “young people and their parents increasingly expect to find information… and connect to… services when and where they need to”, we feel that our calendar app is in the right place at the right time.
